Rooms and Views
Rooms at Meliá Cozumel are spacious and clean, with daily housekeeping. Many have ocean views from higher floors-the 14th floor offers a panorama of the Caribbean. Garden-view rooms are on the quieter side. The rooms have comfortable beds and basic amenities like air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Some guests noted that rooms can feel humid and may have a mildew smell, so take that into account.
Dining Options
Dining is all-inclusive. The main buffet serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a variety of dishes. There are also four additional dining areas: Fish House, The Mole, Taco Restaurant, and a garden eatery. Fish House offers seafood and is a standout-guests recommend it. The buffet has themed nights and a wide selection, but reservations for the à la carte restaurants are hard to get, especially for longer stays. You may need to book early (right at 9 am) for a chance.
Leisure and Wellness
The resort has two outdoor pools, including an adult-only pool. The family pool has plenty of seating. There's a kids' club with activities like archery and electric car driving, plus a playground, mini golf, and water sports. The spa offers treatments, and the wellness center is certified to support cancer patients. The fitness center has modern equipment, and there's a games room. Beach access is direct, but sometimes seaweed can affect water clarity.
Location and Transport
Meliá Cozumel is 10 km from Cozumel International Airport-about 10 minutes by car. A taxi to downtown costs about $8 USD. The hotel is on the north end of the island, close to Playa San Juan and Club Cozumel Caribe. It's a quiet area-no loud nightlife, but you can rent a jeep (delivered to the hotel) to explore. The beach is sandy, but water can be murky due to seaweed.
