Durham Cathedral, Castle, University and Railway Station are only 2.3 miles from the house - only 5-10 minutes by car. dark arrivalpeanut request
The dark arrival was less than ideal, it reminded me of I was sneaking around for milk in the dark conservatory. The breakfast was a little strange, I did not see any wrappers on or near the item to check for peanuts, despite my request to avoid them. I had to find the owner's son just to hand in the key when leaving, I had no clue what I was supposed to do.

the location was very friendly and the environment was relaxing. i felt very welcome and the city centre was easily reached. i liked the self-service breakfast arrangement and it felt very much like home.
the bed was a small double and my feet hung over the end. the room is fairly small. there was no wardrobe, so the cases had to go on the floor at the side of the room.
