The room included quality toiletries and fluffy towels. Breakfast was cooked to order and first class. I found the location central with convenient access to main attractions. The staff were friendly and accommodating to my requests.
The water pressure in the shower was a little low

storage smell bathroom cleanliness
I was a bit disappointed by a couple of things . The room had a noticeable storage smell that lingered on the bedding. I observed some mould on the grout in the bathroom and the toilet pan was discoloured. It made me question the overall cleanliness there.

musty bedding bathroom cleanliness
i found a few issues . the bedding smelled musty, almost like it had been stored for too long. this wasn't very pleasant. also, the bathroom cleanliness was not great. there was grout mould and the toilet pan had some discoloration. it left a bit to be desired.

Location is fine. I could get to places. Parking was nearby, which I suppose, made things simpler.
Stairs were quite narrow. I lugged my suitcase up this rather steep staircase. It was inconvenient. I seemed like a pack mule.

non-working tv traffic noise
the location was acceptable for seeing some landmarks.
The tv didn't work and no one bothered to tell me before i arrived. I could have brought my own entertainment. the room got very hot, even with the fan it was rather stuffy. i think someone was slamming doors all night.

Nice stay
vintage radio friendly staff
I liked the vintage radio and cute milk bottles. A sign on the towel said, 'gone to the pub'. Breakfast provided a great choice and accommodated my gluten intolerance. The staff WERE friendly.
The quiz nights were REALLY loud. I thought avoiding wednesday night would be fine, but quizzes also happen on thursdays. It is a shame BECAUSE the rooms are lovely.

The pub downstairs had a good atmosphere. It SEEMED to be a local spot. Beers were high quality. Breakfast portions were large and beautifully cooked.

Staff were helpful suggesting parking for loading luggage. One staff member offered to help carry items downstairs. The manager provided directions to a good dog walking spot near the hotel.
