Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Scott offers a charming experience with a blend of historic architecture and modern style, and it is conveniently located near Arthur's Seat and Holyrood Park, making sunrise walks easily accessible. The breakfast is consistently praised for being fresh and tasty, and rooms often feature comfortable king-size beds, robes, slippers, and excellent bath products. While most find the location ideal, some guests have noted it's a bit of a walk to the city centre for those who prefer not to use public transport. Guests can also enjoy high-end teas, biscuits, and coffee machines available in the rooms, along with access to parking.

My room lacked a wow factor for the price I paid. I found spider webs in the room. I mentioned it, but NOTHING was done about it. The next day's breakfast was NOT up to scratch compared to the first day. Maybe there was a different chef.

the staff was so helpful and nice. they helped with directions and recommendations for cool spots. the rooms decor was modern with lovely, tasteful art and the bed so comfy. i plan to book again next year.
the gym was quite small with limited equipment. i would have prefered a space with more equipment for a full workout. a little more variety would be great.

underwhelming stay

clean roomexcessive pricecollege campus location
the room was clean, i suppose. a basic level of hygiene is expected, of course, not exactly a luxury.
the price seemed excessive. i paid quite a bit for what was like a cramped dorm room. the hotel's location on a college campus was also a surprise, one not advertised prominently.

a decent stay, some issues noted

friendly staffquiet locationsmall roomoverpriced room
i enjoyed the helpful and friendly staff. breakfast was also quite fantastic. i also appreciated the quiet location. it was easy to access buses and taxis.
The room was really, really small. pictures misled me because this hotel is on a college campus, not right next to a park. i also found it a bit overpriced. It is not worth the money.
