Hotel History
The building dates back to 1857 and consists of Late Gothic, Renaissance, and Neo-baroque features. The building, also known as 'The House at the Golden Eagle' and 'The House at the 3 Lambs', is under the protection of the memorial office and Czech National Heritage. Its historical parts restrict the range of reconstruction. The basement retains remains of a rampart approximately 4 meters deep. The first mentions of the purchasing of the house are from 1408, when shoemaker Veleslav, called Stemberk, bought the house from shoemaker Vaclav Jikrnac for an unknown price. The lion masks on the facade of the third floor facing Mostecka street are the patrons of the building. The house consists of a stoned staircase, squared wooden parquets in some parts of the rooms, painted beam ceiling, doors and original wall paintings in parts of the rooms.
