Goldener Hirsch - A Bavarian-inspired ski chalet with modern residences steps from Deer Valley lifts
Nestled mid-mountain in Silver Lake Village at 8100 feet elevation, Goldener Hirsch seamlessly combines a charming Austrian-inspired chalet with sleek modern residences designed by award-winning architect Tom Kundig. The 68 accommodations span across two buildings, housing alpine-styled rooms with antique furnishings and multi-bedroom residences with chef's kitchens and private balconies. Guests enjoy access to a rooftop pool and hot tub, dry sauna, fitness center, and ski valet service with private lockers steps from the chairlifts. The award-winning Goldener Hirsch Restaurant serves contemporary Alpine cuisine with regional American influences, complemented by an impressive wine list and cocktail menu. Level Six features a stunning rooftop patio offering panoramic views of ski runs and the surrounding Wasatch Mountains. This Park City hotel provides easy access to Deer Valley Resort's 60 miles of mountain biking trails in summer and world-class skiing in winter across six mountains. Located just a 5-minute drive from Historic Main Street, Goldener Hirsch offers complimentary shuttle service within a 4-mile radius.
Pros
Family-friendly amenities include complimentary meals for children under 12 when dining with an adult
The property features both historic charm in the Inn building and modern luxury in the Residences
Direct access to Deer Valley's ski lifts with on-site ski valet and private ski lockers
Unique activities like pretzel-making workshops and Bavarian-inspired culinary experiences
Bridge Plaza provides an outdoor gathering space connecting the Inn and Residences
Cons
The property closes for a few weeks during spring and fall shoulder seasons
On-site spa facilities are limited to two treatment rooms, with most services delivered in-room
“This European-inspired mountain retreat emphasizes personalized attention, from its Goldener Guides to its award-winning Alpine cuisine. The ski-in/ski-out access is a genuine convenience, but I suspect it's the blend of Bavarian charm and modern residences that most guests remember. Its intimate scale and focus on tailored experiences set it apart in Park City.”
