Le Meridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh - Historic Art Deco hotel with French-inspired dining and Dorothy Draper event spaces
Located in a 1923 Art Deco building in Uptown Dallas, this 4-star Dallas hotel combines classic architecture with modern design elements. The Stoneleigh features Perle on Maple restaurant, serving French bistro cuisine with locally sourced ingredients and Texas influences. Le Meridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh offers nine Tribute Suites honoring historic guests like Elvis Presley and Judy Garland. The property includes 6000 square feet of Dorothy Draper-designed event space, a 24-hour fitness center, and an outdoor pool with chaise loungers. Guest rooms feature air conditioning, minibars, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, and private bathrooms with bathtubs. The hotel stands half a mile from the Katy Trail walking and biking path and Turtle Creek. The surrounding trendy neighborhood houses galleries, cocktail lounges, boutiques, and sits within 1 mile of Dallas Museum of Art and Nasher Sculpture Center.
Pros
Nine themed Tribute Suites celebrate notable historic guests
Dorothy Draper-designed event spaces preserve architectural heritage
Multiple accessibility features including roll-in showers and hearing-accessible rooms
Sustainable practices with measured carbon (33.69 kg) and water (370.29 liters) footprint per room night
Cons
Pet fee of $50 per night applies
Limited to 2 pets per room
“The Stoneleigh distinguishes itself with a unique blend of historic elegance and contemporary luxury, emphasizing an artistic atmosphere alongside specialized dining experiences rooted in local flavors. Its prime Uptown location is a notable asset, placing guests near key attractions and offering diverse event spaces designed by Dorothy Draper, although some reports mention inconsistent service. I believe this hotel is ideal for travelers valuing a central location and distinctive character, while recognizing that some aspects may require refinement.”
