Shivapuri Heights Cottage, Kathmandu

Shivapuri Heights Cottage provides rooms, cottages, and tents. The main cottage includes three rooms, the smaller cottage offers two rooms, Jasmin House has two rooms, and there are also two deluxe tents. Some rooms feature terraces. Rooms provide views of the Kathmandu Valley. Amenities include solar-heated water, wireless internet, and Alexa smart speakers. Tents provide hot tubs and spa baths. Tents include flat-screen TVs with streaming services and private bathrooms with walk-in showers. The bungalow provides minibars, tea/coffee makers, and terraces with garden views. The suite options include separate living rooms, private verandas, and access to the garden.

The Cottage does not have a set menu; the chef prepares meals based on available produce. Meals are served family-style, for a social experience with other guests. Rates include breakfast, along with complimentary tea and coffee. Guests can request other meals and snacks. Fresh salads and vegetables from the organic garden accompany most meals.

Shivapuri Heights Cottage has a library. There is a cool water plunge pool for use during the months of March to September. A hot water Jacuzzi is available for an extra charge. Neeru's Spa offers Ayurvedic massage. Excursions include visits to the Namkha Khyung Dzong Rigdin Choling Monastery (30-minute walk) and the Park Village resort. Longer walks are available in Shivapuri National Park.

The Cottage is located 20 km from Tribhuvan. It sits on the edge of Shivapuri National Park, about 6,000 feet above sea level. The Park Village Resort is located near Buddhanilkantha. The Namkha Khyung Dzong Rigdin Choling Monastery is a 30-minute walk. The Reclining Vishnu Temple is a short drive away. The property offers a 4WD vehicle for transfers from the airport or other locations in Kathmandu.

The cottage has internet available in all spaces at no charge. The property can arrange transport from the airport or another hotel with prior notice. The staff assists with luggage for the walk up the steps to the cottages. Cooking lessons are available with local recipes for Nepalese dishes. Barber services, including haircuts, shaves, and head massages, are available upon request.
