The Dean Hotel, An Ash Hotel - A 52-room boutique property with karaoke bar and European-style cocktail lounge in historic Downcity
Located in Providence's Downcity historic district, this 4-star Providence hotel occupies a transformed 1912 mission house. The Dean Hotel features 52 rooms with premium bedding, parquet floors, and signature black bathrooms equipped with rain showers. Four interconnected guest rooms occupy the private top floor, accommodating up to 10 guests. The property houses multiple dining venues: Bolt Coffee Shop, The Dean Bar (a European-style cocktail lounge), and a karaoke venue called The Boombox that accommodates 2-20 guests for private singing sessions. The Dean Hotel, An Ash Hotel sits 0.3 miles from the Rhode Island Convention Center and surrounded by restaurants including Gracie's, Bravo Brasserie, and Rosalina. Brown University is 1 mile away, while T.F. Green Airport is located 12.5 miles from the property.
Pros
Custom-designed furniture and bespoke artworks in all rooms
Private karaoke rooms available for hourly rental
Exclusive toiletries made specifically for the hotel
Located within 0.5 miles of multiple cultural landmarks including Providence Athenaeum and State House
Cons
Self-parking costs $38 per night
Limited package storage space due to historical building constraints
“This property has an artistic soul, embracing an eclectic style that certainly marches to its own beat. Its prime location near universities and downtown spots makes it a good base for exploration, if a somewhat noisy one at times. I think the karaoke lounge and cocktail bar add a dash of local flavor worth checking out.”
