The Lightkeepers Lodge is at the rear of the lighthouse, overlooking the junction of the Severn and Usk estuaries. This one-bedroom house includes a king-size bed, kitchenette, and en-suite with a shower and free toiletries. Bed linen and towels are available. It also has parquet floors, a seating area, an electric kettle, tea/coffee maker and a flat-screen TV. A standout feature is the hot tub. Guests may see yachts sailing in the distance from the private terrace.
Events and conference space
The West Usk Lighthouse hosts weddings and events for up to 80 guests. The marquee is also available for conference hire, and the venue can supply Wi-fi, an audio system, and a projector screen. The wedding couple are welcome to take professional photographs inside the lighthouse. The marquee holds up to 80 guests and can be decorated. White chair covers with sashes are included, if desired. There is also a large bar in the marquee with refrigeration.
Food and Drink
Catering vans are available for informal dining, or guests can opt for a sit-down service. In Newport's Friars Walk, Bistro Pierre is a short drive away. Junction 28 is recommended for something special. Pettigrew Tea Rooms, near Bute Park & Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, do a charmingly informal afternoon tea, but booking in advance is best for weekends.
