Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco - A waterfront hotel with heated outdoor pool, 24-hour amenities, and direct access to city attractions

Located in the vibrant Fisherman's Wharf district, this 4-star San Francisco hotel occupies a five-story brick building designed to match the height of surrounding structures. The Hyatt Centric features 316 rooms equipped with premium bedding, laptop-friendly workspaces, mini-fridges, and coffee makers. The property houses two dining venues: Brick & Beam, set in an 1868 former marble works building, serving seasonal locally-sourced cuisine, and The Wardroom, offering à la carte and buffet breakfast options. A heated outdoor pool with sundeck and whirlpool sits on the third floor, complemented by a 24-hour fitness center. The property includes 19000 square feet of meeting space with audiovisual equipment. The Hyatt's location puts guests within 0.5 miles of Ghirardelli Square, Lombard Street, and the Powell-Mason cable car terminus, while Pier 39 and North Beach's Italian restaurants are within walking distance.

Pros

Third-floor heated outdoor pool with sundeck is rare for the area

24-hour mini market stocks essential items like detergent and dental floss

Direct access to Wheel Fun Bike Rentals for Golden Gate Bridge excursions

Historical 1868 brick building houses the main restaurant

Cons

1.5 miles from Alcatraz Island ferry departure point

1 mile from Chinatown district

“This Fisherman's Wharf hotel places guests within steps of key attractions, including Pier 39 and the Alcatraz ferry, alongside plentiful dining and transport options. I noted the heated outdoor pool and well-equipped fitness center, both welcome amenities. While some rooms facing the street may experience noise, the location and modern style make it a practical base for exploring the city.”

Acceptable Stay

good location convenient location wonderful housekeeping friendly staff unfriendly worker hotel policy
The hotel had a good location near shops. It also was near restaurants. I liked how close the hotel was to the piers. I found the staff to be friendly, even housekeeping was wonderful.
The front desk worker was very unfriendly. She also neglected to provide our buffet vouchers. The policies at this hotel make great customer service impossible.

Acceptable Hotel Experience

convenient location clean room broken elevator unavailable upgrade
I found the location quite convenient. It was easy to walk to many places I wanted to see. The room was also kept clean . Staff did a great job.
The lobby elevator was not working. I had to carry my luggage up the escalator at checkout because it was going down. I was not offered an upgrade as an Explorist. I was not even told whether one was available.

Excellent stay location

convenient location quiet facility clean beds
The hotel is very near to Fisherman's Wharf. I could reach the Powell and Mason cable car turnaround with ease, and I found Columbus Avenue close too. I easily accessed buses to Union Square. I also liked that facility it was quiet. My room had queen beds and I found it clean.
The immediate area features mostly tourist oriented restaurants, this was a slightly disappointing.
Service
10/10
The housekeeping staff kept the rooms very clean. The team was always ready to provide extra towels and toiletries. They are always ready to ensure I had everything for a comfortable stay .
