Victorian guest house

The Wycliffe Guest House welcomes guests to a Victorian building with original features and modern updates. It is one of the few properties in the area with private off-road parking and its own gardens. Located 100 km from London City. Note that rooms are on the third floor, accessible only by stairs, with a fairly narrow final stairway. Pre-booking is required the day before arrival.

Rooms and amenities

The Wycliffe offers rooms with views over Folkestone or Trinity Gardens. Room amenities include a hospitality tray with hot beverages, free WiFi, and a flat-screen digital TV with Freeview. There is a family room that accommodates two adults and two children (additional charges apply for extra children or more than two adults). Some rooms include private bathrooms with a hand washbasin, toilet, and shower. The loft rooms share toilet and shower facilities across the hallway. Each room provides heating, tea and coffee facilities, free toiletries, and an electric kettle. All rooms are carpeted.

Dining and breakfast

Breakfast is served daily in a bright dining room. Options include cereals, fruit juice, toast, a full cooked breakfast or continental meats, cheeses or croissants, and tea or coffee. Guests with very early starts can request a tray breakfast of orange juice, croissants, jam, and marmalade. Fruit, herbal and decaf teas, and decaf coffee are available on request. Sample seafood at local seafood bars.

Leisure and services

Guests can use the outdoor tennis court, complimentary wireless Internet access, a picnic area, and barbecue grills. Walk through the arches to the fish market. The en-suite bathroom includes a hand washbasin, toilet and shower. For transport, board Southeastern towards Ramsgate from Platform 13 at St Pancreas International Station.

Location and access

The Wycliffe Guest House is a 10-minute drive from the Channel Tunnel, Folkestone Railway Station, and the M20 motorway, and 15 minutes on foot from Folkestone West. Nearby landmarks include The Leas Bandstand (0.5 km), Georges House Gallery (1 km), and the Zig Zag Path (0.5 km). Other nearby attractions are Sentient Gallery (1 km), Folk Stones Mark Wallinger (0.5 km), and The Leas Promenade (0.5 km). Explore Folkestone Beach and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and Gardens. Guests can find the Zig Zag path halfway between town and Folkestone West. The Creative Quarter includes Tontine Street, linking Folkestone Harbour with the town center. The eastern end of the Stade and Folkestone Harbour features a sandy beach.

“The Wycliffe presents a classic Victorian experience with modern touches that make it a practical choice, especially given the on-site parking. I think the location is excellent for Channel crossings or exploring Folkestone. It strikes me as a comfortable base with a personal touch.”

The family suite had enough space for us. As a family of five, that's rare. i appreciated the cubbies in the bathroom because they were really useful for storing our toiletries.
the beds weren't very comfortable, i must say.

Lovely Stay Before France

warm welcomespacious roomexcellent breakfaststrong odour
We received a warm welcome upon our late check-in. The room was really spacious with an en-suite, and it accommodated all five of us comfortably. Onsite car parking was available, and breakfast tasted excellent. It was a short drive to the Eurotunnel , a significant advantage for our trip.
The room I booked had a strong odour. The replacement room was cold and full of ladybirds.
