The Sylvia was Vancouver's first cocktail bar and offers historic cocktails and west coast cuisine. A 3-course Thanksgiving Dinner is available with traditional trimmings.

the location was acceptable, right on the beach.
I was disappointed by the front desk service. the staff seemed to treat me with contempt when i asked for help, like microwaving some food. they said their only microwave was broken, and they weren't willing to assist. It was all so difficult.

The location worked out fine, I suppose, next to the beach.
The check-in process felt bizarre. The front desk person grilled me about my debit card. A name wasn't printed on it. Then they gave me a cramped room. I left and found a better place.

I visited the hotel with my family as a child. The consistency is amazing. Our room was comfortable and the staff were helpful. We liked breakfasts in the sun room and appreciated the proximity for renting bikes to Stanley Park.
The room I booked had no air conditioning. I stayed on the eighth floor with open windows and a ceiling fan. The July heat made it uncomfortable.

The hotel provided delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The bistro and lounge offered quality food and beverages. I also enjoyed cocktails in the lounge with views of the bay.

The suite had a large sitting room that included a table, chairs, and a Murphy wall bed. The bedroom was roomy and the suite also featured a separate kitchen area with a table and chairs. The full bathroom was also well-appointed.
