difficult switches surprise deposit

I noticed a couple of things that could have been better. the light switches in the room were a real puzzle. I spent ages each night trying to turn off all the lights. also, the check-in was a bit of a hassle because they wanted a hefty deposit (over $500). (still, the experience was acceptable.)

the location is super great, like right where everything happens. the staff is really friendly. the rooms it was beautiful and had a bunch of space.

the wardrobe storage, it was just way too small for all my stuff. the bathroom looked kinda old and i noticed some weird stains on the bath. they charge way too much for bottled water in the minibar, that a problem.

the lobby had a nice vibe. the location is good with access to various shops. the room was clean, and the shower worked very well.

The light switches proved difficult to control. It took nearly a minute each night to turn off all lights.

solid stay in a great location

helpful staff early arrival ample space

the front desk staff was very helpful. they were accommodating with my early arrival. the one bedroom james suite with empire view provided ample space. it had a dining table (perfect for ordering in!).

the hotel charged a $100 per night deposit. this took a noticeable chunk out of my spending money. the return of this deposit was not quick.

the hotel is close to many sites. the subway is also a short four minute walk away. fifth avenue is only a three minute walk from the building.

room keys are needed in the elevator to access guest floors. the room had an ironing board, iron, and small closet for clothes. common areas had an appealing look (i quite liked the decor).

maid service visited the room daily . the reception staff was very lovely when i checked in. they upgraded me to a larger room when i had a curtain issue.

the hotel included wine and chocolates in the late afternoon. the on-site restaurant proved to be a pleasant surprise. the hotel breakfast had limited options at a bakery two blocks away.

accessible location kind staff convenient market

the hotel lobby had a nice vibe and accessible location for shops. the room offered easy access to attractions and public transport. water was available to drink and the staff was very kind. it was convenient being only one block from a whole food market.

light switches in the room were hard to control taking up to 60 seconds each night to turn off the various lights.

The location was good. It was close to many restaurants and subway stations.

I had issues with extra charges. there was a $200 charge on my card after i returned home. It was difficult to contact anyone about it. i tried calling all day, but it always went to voicemail. The inbox was full.
