“The Royal Clifton's Victorian bones give it a stately presence on Southport's promenade; its sea views are undeniable, as is its potential as a base for families exploring the area. I think the hotel clearly caters to a range of needs, from leisure to business, but I feel that some inconsistencies in service and upkeep need addressing to truly elevate the experience. Despite some possible drawbacks, the hotel holds a certain appeal, especially given its historical character and pet-friendly policy, which are nice touches.”
