Galtres Lodge offers a range of rooms with features highlighting the history of a Georgian townhouse. Rooms include original oak beams, exposed brick walls, and traditional fireplaces. Some rooms provide views of York Minster. Accommodation types include: Romantic Room (with original oak beams, exposed brick fireplace, and views of York Minster), Superior Double (with views towards York Minster and an exposed brick fireplace; the largest bathroom includes a walk-in shower plus a separate roll top bath), Standard Double (slightly larger than the Small Double rooms), Small Double (some include stunning oak beams). Dog-friendly rooms are available on the lower floors (Room 5 - standard single room; Room 11 - standard double room; Rooms 2 and 4 - superior double rooms; Room 6 - luxury room). Each room includes a TV, hairdryer, and tea/coffee-making facilities. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with WC and sink. Most rooms have a walk-in shower only, except for the Superior Room which has a walk-in shower and separate roll top bath.

I found the location really good. The staff accommodated our requests with extra attention. I adored the quirky, beamed room. The breakfast was also lovely. The decor and rooms had a beautiful aesthetic. The bathtub was particularly amazing!
There are a lot of stairs to reach rooms with twisty hallways.

The bed offered little comfort. Springs seemed to protrude everywhere. Street noise infiltrated the room. Sleep suffered as a result. perhaps earplugs should be provided to ameliorate this problem.

the location was indeed central. staff members were helpful and friendly (thanks!). the room was very comfy and tidy. i really appreciated that they left chocolates in the room for our birthdays.
the noise from outside was quite loud. even with the blinds, light entered throughout the night. early morning bottle bin emptying also disturbed our sleep.
