The Garrison Hotel offers accommodations, from double rooms to family rooms sleeping three or four guests. Serviced apartments accommodate up to six guests. For a different experience, guests can stay in converted prison cells, which include bunk rooms with amenities. One double cell is available. All rooms include luxury toiletries from The Highland Soap Co., flat-screen TVs with streaming services, and tea/coffee makers. Some rooms include a safe deposit box and chocolate. Suites include kitchenettes with a fridge and microwave, and a seating area. Apartments feature fully equipped kitchens with a fridge, washing machine, cooker with oven & hob, toaster, kettle, essential utensils, plates and pots and pans. Bathrobes and fluffy pillows are provided in all cells.
Dining Options
The Garrison offers breakfast with hot classics, smoothies, tea, coffee, and pastries. Fresh pastries and bread are available at the cafe. The sister restaurant, The Ben Nevis Bar, has been in High Street since 1806, and features pub food, Scotch whisky, local beer and spirits. Fresh Scottish seafood is served at their restaurant on Fort William pier and in their sister restaurant, Garrison West, in the town centre. The Inn at Ardgour, accessible via the Corran Ferry, offers pub food.
Things to Do
The Garrison is near the West Highland Way finishing point, where there is a statue of a walker. It is close to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, where the Jacobite train can be seen. Steall Falls is near the hotel. Guests can also visit Cameron Square, home to the Highland Cinema. For hill walkers, Aonach Mor offers routes to the UK's 8th highest mountain. The hotel is 65 km from Oban.
Location & Transport
The Garrison Hotel is in the heart of Fort William, located off the High Street. It is near Fort William Railway Station and 65 km from Oban. To reach the hotel from Glencoe, take the 2nd exit onto High Street. From Inverness, follow the A82, passing Fort William Railway Station, and take the 1st exit onto High Street. Limited free private parking is available on a first come, first served basis, with a public car park a 4-minute walk away. Guests can take the Corran Ferry across to the Ardnamurchan peninsula.

Fantastic stay!

I found the staff to be very attentive. They promptly addressed all my requests. The room included complimentary tea and coffee, I thought that was a nice touch. The location was also superb. It was close to key attractions.

The room had a great bathroom. I especially liked the shower. Breakfast was nice, and the beds were comfy. Staff were very helpful and friendly, they provided efficient service (much appreciated).
