Dining at Spey Valley
The Scottish Steakhouse serves steak cooked to order, North Sea haddock, beer-battered and served with tartar sauce and mushy peas. A lighter menu of snacks, lunches, and afternoon teas is available in the bar, open Monday to Sunday, with the bar menu served from 12 PM to 4 PM and the restaurant menu from 5 PM to 8 PM. The Clubhouse offers breakfast rolls, cake, and lattes with views of the mountains and greens.

Spey Valley Resort has an indoor pool with sauna. Leisure activities include arts and crafts, pool games, and sports. The resort has a gym, outdoor tennis courts, a sports hall with an Australian half tennis court (equipment hire available), squash courts, snooker, pool, and an outdoor children's play area.

Located on the banks of the River Spey, Macdonald Spey Valley Resort is near the Cairngorms National Park, 60 km from Inverness. It is a 20-minute walk from Aviemore and 1 mile from Spey Valley Shopping. Nearby attractions include the Craigellachie National Nature Reserve (3 km), TreeZone Aviemore (3 km), and Rothiemurchus (2 km). The Aviemore train station is 10 minutes away, with links to Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London. National Cycle Route 7 passes through Aviemore. Inverness Airport is the closest airport.

I found my room very clean with the kitchen well stocked. it had washing up equipment and even dishwasher tabs. oven gloves were present TOO. the lodge location was great. It was ideal for exploring the area.

the classic one bedroom apartment included a well-equipped kitchen i found useful i saw an electric hob with four rings and an oven. a microwave was also present i heated up some leftovers with it. the living area had comfortable seating and a tv with plenty of channels.
the bathroom was a bit small

i stayed in a spacious two bedroom apartment. it had a sun room on the private balcony. we also had our own parking space near the resort restaurant. the swimming pool was a short walk away.

a bit disappointing
leaky tappoor soundproofing
the chalet felt quite outdated. there were some maintenance issues, like a leaky tap that i reported but no one fixed. also, the soundproofing wasn't great. i could hear noise from the hallway and nearby rooms, annoying. it made it hard to relax properly. the tv remote barely worked too.

Our lodge had everything we needed. The location was very convenient. The staff was helpful. The lodge size suited the two of us. The beds were very comfy.
Some windows were insecure. I did not want to leave valuables behind because of it. The lighting was too dim in certain areas.

The restaurant has limited hours. The café and bar remains closed at lunchtime. Perhaps this schedule applies only during specific times of the year, I am not sure
