The location was peaceful. The hotel backs onto the Caledonian Canal, and I could see Ben Nevis in the distance. The staff were friendly and cute. The bed was huge (I was coming back from a long drive). It was perfect for my needs.
The first impression was not great. The hotel did not look like the modern building in the image. The image shows a cafe and new extension, but the main building is a run-down, 70s style structure. The room was dated, and some furniture was soiled.
