Rooms at The Megaro

The Megaro Hotel - Kings Cross St Pancras, London, offers rooms with features taken from the white chalk soils and oak forests of the Reims region blended with warm natural cork, cool translucent glass, gold metallic foil, shimmering brass and tailoring fabrics of warm Harris Tweed and soft red velvet. Accents of eye-popping acid yellow can be found on curtains, cushions and throws. The Magenta color taken from the pigments of newly-made wine and the roses often planted in vineyards is incorporated into the design. Woodwork on doors, skirting boards and bed base evoke the frame of a deconstructed Tardis. Dining at The Megaro

The set menu options are based on classic Italian cuisine with a focus on quality, seasonal ingredients. Magenta will be serving classic cocktails with cicchetti specially created by the restaurant's Executive Head Chef Manuele Bazzoni. The good breakfast involves choosing a hot option from a list that includes pancakes and a vegetarian option, granola or fruit salad, juice and tea or coffee. The menus are human grade, fresh chef cooked restaurant style meals, toppers, and treats, topped off with a bowl of puppy-safe Rosé.

Leisure and Entertainment

The entire ceiling ripples with electric dynamos, steam valves, copper pipes and circuits forming the backdrop to a complex stage lighting scenography with invited artists playing an eclectic mixture of rare groove, soul, electronica and deep house music. Guests can view a flock of butterflies made of wine stains, which have been reproduced as dozens of actual objects in printed aluminium populating the ceilings around an iconic light pendant by Foscarini. The interiors are quirky artistic compositions printed on metal sheets and soft cushions, using local cultural icons from the British bulldog to Harry Potter's owl.

The location was great! It was super close to the train station. The breakfast was delicious. It had a lot of choices.
The room had very thin roller blinds at the windows. This meant there was little sound insulation and a cold draft all night. I also found the bed lumpy, and it was very uncomfortable.

the hotel's location was convenient for transport connections.
the room i stayed in was quite noisy , with traffic sounds disturbing sleep. the bed also did not meet my expectations for a hotel in this category , as it was not particularly comfortable. the breakfast had a very limited choice , with one option from the bakery and one from the kitchen , which was unlike other hotels i have stayed in.
