Rooms at Boar's Head

The Boar's Head has 23 bedrooms in the Main House and Birchwood House. Main House rooms offer views of the village or courtyard and include double and twin options. Birchwood House, across the road, has double and twin rooms on the ground or first floor. Courtyard bedrooms provide double and twin configurations at the back of the Main House, facing the garden. Poacher's Den and Gardener's Cottage suites in the Courtyard feature a double room, en-suite bathroom, and lounge area. Each room features free toiletries, a private bathroom with a bath or shower, a hairdryer, a tea and coffee maker, a carpeted floor, and a flat-screen TV. Dog-friendly rooms are available upon request, with a £20.00 fee per dog, per night.

Dining at the Inn

The Boar's Head includes a traditional Bar, a Snug with a log fire, and a Dining Room. The dining room has a seasonal menu with local produce. The bar is open daily from 11 AM to 11 PM (10:30 PM on Sundays). Food service is Monday to Saturday, 12 PM - 2:30 PM for lunch and 6 PM - 9 PM for dinner. On Sundays, roast dinner and classic dishes are available from 12 PM to 8 PM. The Ripley Castle Tearoom and GrindHus Coffee Shop are nearby for drinks and cake. A Tea Room and Takeaway is available for drinks and cake.

Things to Do

Guests of The Boar's Head receive complimentary access to the Ripley Castle Gardens & Grounds. Visitors can walk around the Lake, through the ancient deer park, and around the large Victorian walled garden. Ripley Castle has a calendar of events. Live for Today Adventures at Ripley offers archery, axe throwing, and canoeing. Two escape rooms are located inside Ripley Castle.

The Boar's Head is located in the village of Ripley, on the Ripley Castle Estate, with access to Harrogate. It is 15 km from Starbeck and 25 km from Leeds Bradford Airport. Check-in is from 2 PM, and check-out is by 10:30 AM. The Boar's Head secures items of value, and firearms, in its safe. Well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome in the bar. The Team at Live for Today arrange activities. Just Makers, in the Castle courtyard, sells items for home and gifts. Any guest found smoking on the premises will be asked to extinguish their cigarette immediately, and failure to comply will result in the guest being asked to leave the premises.

The staff was really helpful. The courtyard room had a very comfortable bed. i appreciated the tea and coffee selection. The building is located in a charming village, i found it quite beautiful.
The parking area was a bit tight to maneuver.

I found the staff quite cute. The courtyard room had nice furniture with coffee and tea supplies. I also appreciated the very comfortable, large bed. Parking was easy with close access.
The windows only open a little so the room got a bit stuffy.

the location was excellent it was easy to explore the surrounding area. the food in the restaurant was delicious i particularly enjoyed the breakfast. the room was very clean and the bathroom was well maintained.
parking was limited every spot was taken upon arrival. the room was quite hot during the night. the fan provided was too small to cool the room effectively.
