The gardens were beautiful, offering such a relaxing atmosphere. i found the reception and bar areas to be quite spacious. the views from the restaurant were AMAZING!!! the staff did a fantastic job managing some demanding coach parties. I was really impressed by their efficiency.

The carpet near the bathroom seemed slightly threadbare. It gave the room a less maintained appearance.

the room showed definite signs of wear. there was rust in the bath and mold on some tiles. the bathroom fittings also had rust, and the curtains were detaching from the wall, it was disappointing. also, i was awakened at 3:45 am by staff moving heavy furniture in the room above, and i did not appreciate that at all.

the hotel is set in independent grounds, which include a golf course and a spa, it's quite excellent. i found the drive up from the main road lovely! this hotel is also convenient for driving into the town.

the christmas decorations were classy and not over the top, which i thought was good. i took advantage of the pool, the steam room, and the sauna! there is also a bar overlooking the italian terrace and garden.

I found the location very convenient. The grounds were beautiful and well-kept. My room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The spa and pool facilities were superb.

I encountered some noise from a generator outside my bedroom window. It was disruptive. While the staff moved me to another room, this room was smaller and colder. I found this situation less than ideal.
